Moved to business reporting in 2018, mostly automotive suppliers and manufacturing. Spent the last few years covering how tech companies promise to save Midwest towns and usually don't. Grew up in Ann Arbor. Parents came from Osaka in 1983. Dad worked at a Toyota plant in Ypsilanti for thirty years. She knows what happens when factories close. Graduated from Michigan State. Still does the New York Times crossword every Saturday.
